Late 2019 Site Updates

I wanted to give everyone an update on what’s been happening on FlatTrackRadio.com in 2019.

We have been working on some of the hidden stuff of the web site, focusing on the performance of the site.  I had noticed some performance issues throughout the site and have been working to correct each area, make the site faster and trying to prevent the issue from occurring in the future.

Check us out at www.FlatTrackRadio.com from any device and our Facebook page.

Be safe and Go Fast Sideways!

The first race at WVR is over and the photo gallery us UP!

The first race at WVR was on May 26th and was not a points race.  Starting with nearly 1,400 pictures, I narrowed it down to almost 100 for the gallery.  I’d like to get it down to 60 or so, but I was having too much fun, so I went with it.

With Mother Nature not playing nice this spring, between the leftover snow and weekend rain, we haven’t been able to ride much at WVR.  I’d call the May 26th race a ‘WVR warmup’ for the Annual Jamison Minor Memorial Race on June 9th at Wachusett Valley Riders Club in Winchendon, MA.

I look forward to seeing all of you there.

The first Wachusett Valley Riders Club (WVR) gallery has been posted!

Again, I wanted to apologize for the amount of time that it has taken to get the galleries up.  Normal everyday life and work has seems to get in the way a little bit but I continue to work my way through it all to bring you the galleries of the events that we attend.

The Family Fun Day galleries will be set up as monthly pages.  Unfortunately, doing them separately is just too much.  The first is of course May as the track either had snow or rain on it all the way through April.

There were a few new riders and we were even visited by a couple of local experts and even a AFT Pro.  It was a lot of fun working off the rust from the winter.

The radio station is still a work in process.  Unfortunately, there are a lot of details that we are ironing out.  We have NOT stopped working to bring you LIVE, or nearly live, interviews, event coverage and we may even be able to bring streaming video to the web site for some of the live events in the future.

Keep looking as the site will keep growing!  Thank you all, we’ll see you all soon.

The local season has begun!

Hi all.

We spent last weekend up at Wachusett Valley Riders Club in Winchendon, MA for a couple of Family Fun Days.  They felt that they needed to work the track a little before the real racing starts.

Saturday it was raining, but it was a light rain and the few of us that braved the elements were rewarded with some riding time.  The track felt like it had just been watered…because it was.  Sorry, no pictures from the day.

Sunday was an all out Family Fun Day!  It was good to see a bunch of the regulars and great to meet some new faces.  Everyone had fun and there are definitely some pictures of Sunday’s events.  The smiles that I saw on people’s faces at the end of the day says it all.

I want to apologize as it takes a bit of time.  I’ve already started to go through almost 600 pictures and working to sort out 50-60 of the best for the new gallery so that I can post them before the weekend.  I’m even changing how the galleries are set up for the Family Fun Days.

NOTE FOR EVERYONE:  The day after a scheduled race event at Wachusett Valley Riders Club, the schedule shows either a rain date for the race or a Family Fun Day.  One of the two will happen.

Go Fast Sideways and let’s hope for sunny weekends!

The Daytona TT gallery is now complete.

Hello all.

After looking at and sorting through lots of pictures around working my regular job, I have picked a bunch of pictures to put up for both the Daytona TT Singles and Twins galleries.  This is the format that I’m going to follow for all of the American Flat Track events that we attend; Pre-race, Singles and Twins.  I have a one change that I want to make, but the galleries are fully up.  That change will be done within the next hour or so.

Have fun and let us know what you think.  Thank you.

The photo galleries are now coming online!

It hasn’t been a week since we’ve been back in CT, but going through the pictures and setting up galleries takes a bit more time than I thought.  With between 2,000 and 5,000 pictures to go through at every major event, I should have really expected this.

As of this moment, I have built the framework for the galleries for the AFT events that we attend and have put up a number of pictures from before the races.  Obviously I cannot put all of the pictures up, but I’m going through them to present as much of the feel at the event as I can.  Seeing the riders take on the 6 foot TT jump was one thing, but watching Bubba Blackwell jump 11 cars and trucks before the racing started was great.

It was a great race and a great start to what should be an incredible 2018 AFT season.
